Independent living in a
community environment

Chevrons Living Retirement Community in the New Forest.

Supporting anyone retired to continue to live life to the full, through purpose-built accommodation and living spaces designed to help you thrive.

Chevrons Living is a retirement community in the New Forest that’s been built and designed for those who have served, and life here is a blend of modern community living with a military design twist. Surrounded by friendly faces, we want you to create the camaraderie that might be missing from your life, inspired by shared experiences that so many of you hold dear.

Living at Chevrons feels like you haven’t left home. You’ll have access to luxurious living spaces, including a bar and dining area, and the chance to soak up the sun in the garden or head out on adventures with your close-knit community.

Situated on the edge of the New Forest, with abundant outdoor escapes on your doorstep, we hope that Chevrons will feel like home or, perhaps, even better than home.

Book an appointment to come and experience our high-quality independent living accommodation in Fordingbridge, on the edge of the New Forest.

Living at Chevrons Retirement Community in the New Forest

Explore life at Chevrons - Your room

Chevrons has 10 beautifully designed studios – all with double beds and some with separate living areas. All our accommodation is en-suite and our ground floor rooms come with their own patio area for you to have a cup of tea in the sun and enjoy a spot of peace and quiet.

Aside from getting a good night’s sleep, you can relax in your room when you want some ‘me’ time. And if you feel like cooking for yourself, then our apartments have small kitchens or kitchenettes.

All our rooms have wardrobes, beds and furniture so you’ll feel right at home the moment you move in.

Retirement community in the New Forest

Be part of our retirement community in the New Forest

Our community of people is what makes Chevrons truly special. Whether it’s having someone to chat with while you’re enjoying breakfast or playing a quiet game of bridge in the afternoon, there’s a connection and community here that is enriching for our residents.

Our spaces are designed with connection and togetherness in mind. The communal bar and lounge are perfect for playing games, having a cup of tea and a chat or painting and crafting with your new-found friends.

Retirement community in the New Forest

The garden has a dedicated BBQ area for long summer evenings where you can sit back to the sizzle of the BBQ, enjoy a drink from the bar and build the sense of camaraderie that makes living here so special.

We want to make life easy for you so you can spend your time relaxing and doing the things you enjoy. It is your community so let us know if there are trips you want to organise or an event that you would like to celebrate as a community. The team at Chevrons is here to serve you – it’s payback time.

If you’re not sure it’s the right setting for you, come and visit us. Email us to arrange a time to view our retirement community in the New Forest.

Live well

You’ll sit down every morning to a healthy and nourishing breakfast at Chevrons, included in your monthly rent, that sets you up for whatever the day might hold. We make every effort to cater to any allergies or intolerances you might have.

And when you don’t feel like cooking, you can book lunch and dinner in advance at our restaurant for an additional charge. Fresh, home-cooked food is available every day – so you won’t be spending time planning your meals when you don’t want to.

Our well-stocked bar is self-service, with an honesty box for you to pop your payment into, so you’re never restricted to opening or closing times when something takes your fancy.

Meet like-minded people

If you’re looking for a little adventure from your retirement community in the New Forest, our Escape Committee organises regular trips and outings. Fishing trips, walking tours, craft events and choirs – we want your experiences at Chevrons Living to feel as varied and fun as when you were younger.

You can contribute ideas for trips and collaborate with your like-minded neighbours to help us build a living space for the wise-in-mind, but young-at-heart.

Our location in the heart of Fordingbridge means that you’ll have easy access to plenty of the town’s shops, pubs and independent cafes. The local library is a short walk away and local parks and attractions, like Breamore House, provide plenty to see and do so you can feel part of the wider community too.

Chevrons is an incredibly high-quality facility for active seniors. The rooms are beautifully designed and the whole set-up has a great atmosphere. The ability to be able to live independently within a community environment is really special and the Elizabeth Bar has to be seen to be believed. I’m not there yet but would definitely consider it for my later years. I think anyone living here would be extremely happy. The team has the balance right of giving residents space but enabling a supportive and beautiful shared accommodation. I would highly recommend it.

Town Mayor Cllr Peter White

Community hub room

We have a dedicated private ‘hub’ room for our residents that can be booked so you have access to a convenient space for any appointments you want to make that require a home visit.

It’s convenient and comfortable, allowing you the freedom of having a separate private room that can be booked for essential legal appointments or healthcare. The room is able to be adapted to work for a visit from the doctor or a solicitor, a physio or your hairdresser.

All the communal spaces are cleaned and maintained by our facilities management team and the cost is covered by your maintenance charge. For an extra charge, we can freshly launder your bed linen and towels and provide a cleaning service for your room so that you don’t have to.

Enjoy the outdoors

Relax on a bench with your book in our beautifully landscaped garden or sit and watch the wildlife visit throughout the year. Yours to use and enjoy all year round, some of our ground floor apartments overlook the garden so you can sit with a cup of tea and watch the wildlife come and go or throw open your doors in summer and chat with your neighbours.

Essential for your wellbeing while here at Chevrons Living, the garden is a tranquil area, but it comes to life during the spring and summer months where we host BBQs and social events.

Your investment

Your monthly rent covers all your bills including Council Tax, utilities, Wi-Fi and breakfast. There is an additional maintenance charge for additional services that you can choose including bed linen and towel laundering, room cleaning and lunch and dinner. Please contact us for more information.

We offer discounts to anyone who has served – for His Majesty’s Armed Forces, uniformed services or in the NHS. If you had to wear a uniform to work, speak to us about a reduction in your rates.

When you become a resident here at Chevrons, you’ll be issued with a membership card that you can use at several local pubs. This entitles you to a discount or special offers they have for residents of the Chevrons community.

If you’re looking to live your senior years to their fullest, then request your welcome pack or book an appointment to come and visit our exceptional retirement community in the New Forest.
